As Detachment Commander,
my motto is
“More Helping Hands.” That will be aimed
at Membership, Communication and Activeness of all members and squadrons. With many hands the work is light. With lighter work comes more fun.
We all need to having some fun. The Ronald McDonald House in Omaha is
my charity for the 2010-2011 year. The house in Omaha has 20 rooms that
are badly in need of renovation. I hope we can raise enough money to make
this happen. The Ronald McDonald house will even get matching funds from Robert
B. Daugherty Charitable Foundation for the monies we raise, so for every dollar
we raise the house will get two dollars.
I encourage all Sons members to get involved and
participate. Please use this website to submit articles, pictures and
information about activities, accomplishments or upcoming events of your
Squadron. This is your Detachment webpage, and we will work hard to keep your

David R Kamenske was
elected Detachment of Nebraska Commander, Sons of The American Legion at
the Son’s Thirty Third Annual Convention held in Columbus, Nebraska for
the 2010-2011 year.
David worked his way thought many leadership positions in The Sons of The
American Legion at the Detachment level. He currently serves as Squadron
84 Adjutant for Columbus, NE
and Web master for both Post 84 family site and the Sons of The American
Legion Detachment websites, and a member of the American Legion Riders
Chapter at the Hartman 84 Post.
David’s membership is based on his father Ebeart F. Kamenske’s service in
the U.S. Army Air Corp during W.W.2.
David is semi-retired and runs a web business and works on motorcycles in
his spare time. The son of the late Ebeart F. and Edna (Bess) M. Kamenske
of Bellwood, NE. He graduated of Plate College in Columbus Ne in 1992 with
a associate degree in Business Management, and in 1995 graduate of The
University of Nebraska – Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing.
